(This entry is being put together in stages and is kind of a running chronicle of what the hell is going on right now)

I made it here though again, after the mess the Kennedy and the Dan Ryan was in I am just grateful to be alive. Thank god for shuffle play on my iPod or else I would have ended up taking hostages.
More problems today: this time having to deal with the interior ferrocontrol software for our machines. The big difficulty comes from millionth place rounding. Our traditional specs for parts are carried out to 3 decimal places (for tools and such). Everything shows up fine on the first three places…then an odd ball shows up on the millionth place…thereby causing the machine to report back that we do not have a properly fitting tool to complete the operation.
We are now really dealing with hardwired machine controller code instead of our beta software. Things are still a bit nightmarish without a doubt. Unfortunately I don’t know what we can really do about the situation. The bad part about this is that this problem should have been taken care of a long time ago…and we are just now encountering it.
At any rate the operative phrase for most of the day seems to be “back to the drawing board.” It is irritating and frustrating...and unfortunately there is not a damn thing that we can do about it. At this point, any changes that we request won’t be implemented until the next software version which we will not see until three months from now at least. I definitely feel like my time is being wasted by external sources.
