Overall, getting back to work has been pretty righteous...

Now if only I knew why the ball of each foot feels like someone is taking a makita cordless drill on a one way trip through them, I would be in business. I think what I am feeling right now is indirectly caused by the aproximately seven years I spent hoping on and off fork lifts.  Only six more weeks or so and I am in my normal assignment...sometimes training sucks.

At any rate, I've been dealing with industrial lasers for the last couple of weeks or so, I am definitely looking forward to getting into the programming side of things on them.  I got a chance last week to observe some programming tests on a Tanaka 3 axis industrial laser that was bigger than some houses I have lived in over the years.

Still here, any how...filling in the gaps, and putting things together.  Dealing with the enemies this time around in the comic...and filling in the pieces on a number of things that I know that people who have gamed in this world have always been wondering about..or came up with the wrong explanations for.  Comic is uploaded for tomorrow by the way...at least I am on a section that is relatively easy to pull off for once.  The recent underground railroad staion I had to put together was a nightmare.  I worked okay comic-wise...but it still isn't quite what I wanted in the end.

Oh [livejournal.com profile] meteru ?  You really need to head over to Vanishing Point and check out their marketplace for Poser models and stuff.  There are a number of things over there that I havent seen anywhere else.  One thing of interest is a whole series of trains (engines, boxcars, tankers and the like)  From what I can see they look absolutely awesome.

Need all kinds of things right now...soda, cigarette and sleep in that exact order.  It's too much to ask for a total lack of pain in my feet as well.

Due to some unpleasant personal circumstances, Requiem is taking today (the 11th of January) off. While the comic is graphically done, I haven't been able to add dialogue to it yet.

Things haven't been too good over here...it looks like tomorrow morning we are going to have to put our 9 year old dog "Pepper" aka "The Big Bear Dog" to sleep in the morning. I had everything in my head ready to be transcribed...and circumstances blew things out of the water.

We'll be back up and running as soon as our brains are able to focus on things again.

When I have the time and the room to do so...I think that I am going to rebuild my rose garden.

First day of my new job starts tomorrow...
Comics pretty much done for tomorrow too...

It's trying to snow over here right now, and I have an early morning ahead of me.  Busy making plans again, for the first time in a great while.  The cat is curled up underneath the blankets on one of the easy chairs in the living room...and the canine of the house is busy guarding the cats scratching post....by using it as a pillow.

Been reading a lot of Frank Millers "Sin City" series lately and experimenting with digital rain in the comic.  I have also been playing around with more of a black and white look for this series of comics as well.  Overall though, I'm taking it easy tonight, and looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

A few entries back I mentioned searching for a song....

"Pride" by the band Syntax...

...off of the album "Meccano Mind".  It sounds like a cross between Rob Dougan and Fluke...which makes sense considering one of the members of Fluke is in this band too.

It's really, really good.

Why do I always end up taking so damn long to get around to site maintenance?

Anywho....the links page is finally updated.

As for what else is going on?  The worst thing in the world...absolutely nothing.

Lot of cleaning house tonight...
Lot of redesigning...

(The first part of this post is Google Food...if you have no interest in the fine points of digital modeling....feel free to skip this post)
As a test run of things, I just got done rebuilding the three currently active female characters in the comic right now.  Most people won't even see the difference, until they see the expressions.

What I did was combine the morphs from the V3 Newgen model with a standard V3 with expressions loaded in.  While I know that there are plenty of injection morphs out there for V3...the ones that are in the Newgen model are totally unique...and Newgen doesn't take standard morph channels at all.

I used a program that is available at the Morphography site (Kozaburos place) to combine the morphs from two different cr2 files into one final version.  The program is called Morph Manager and does work on the millennium series...and pretty much everything else I have tried out as well.  I also know that it is possible to transfer V3 morphs over to Aiko with this as well.

The reason why it works is that all of the morphs that are buried in a character that control things like whether the eyes are slanted or not...or expressions for that matter are actually scripts.  Morph Manager copies the scripts over to the .cr2 file that you wish it to.

I'll be trying this soon with the expressions out of V3 Newgen and moving them over to M3.

At any rate...figuring all of this stuff out was how I spent my 33rd birthday.  At least it was relatively interesting.

Sitting here in a dark house right now.  My cat has just gotten done with playing chase the tail on top of her scratching post, and has laid down to sleep.  The first snow is falling from what has been promised to be a real "winter storm".

Things to do tomorrow...lot of stuff to think about as well.  Need to get the dialog done for tomorrows comic....also need to update the news ticker for Requiem as well.

Shoulder feels like somebody took a cheese grater to my rotator cup right now, other than that I'm okay.  Other than that, what else is there to say?  The Christmas season is approaching....and thanksgrieving is thankfully over.  Hopefully, everybody I give a damn about makes it through the holidays okay.

I just ended up receiving a $25 gift certificate for Renderosity a liitle bit ago.

My mood has just brightened considerably.

Got myself a damn good case of the flu I think.  Not surprised that it finally made an appearance though, I have been run down and ripe for a bug for months now.

And it would end up showing up right when the weather is getting ready to turn absolutely shitty too.

Oh joy and bliss.

Does anybody out there have anything by a band called "The Left Banke" that isn't "Walk Away Renee" or "Pretty Ballerina"?

'Cause I'd really like to hear some of their other stuff.

I survived the holiday....was bored to tears in the process...but I survived.

Holidays are designed for people with families, that's the problem.

The synopsis for Requiem has begun...
The newsticker is now up and running...
I still need to get off my ass and put together new navigation buttons...but I'm still not sure what I want to do in that area.

A new comic will be up in the morning, and the new Tunnelrunners is up as well.  In addition the cast page and the Tunnelrunners archive has been updated.

I think the site redesign has been completed successfully (and it even works in fucking Internet Explorer, too.).  Hopefully, everybody enjoys it :)

Bedtime for me....night all.

God...8 months after I set out to do it, I finally got the site for Requiem redone.

There are still a few things I need to take care of here and there, but the bulk of it is complete.  The remaining fine points should be done by the end of the weekend.

I also had a chance to see the new James Bond film today as well...and I have to say it is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.  However, those people who have problems with heights will go through hell during the first hour.  I know I cringed.

As for the new Bond?  Quite frankly, it is the closest it has been in spirit to the Ian Fleming novels since "From Russia With Love" and "Goldfinger" (which basically were the novels)

See it Jai, trust me...See it.

Do you know of any locations for Photoshop Brushes that are good for duplicating scarring/wounding on someone? I need it to do some work on a body texture for someone.

"People suck, and that's my contention. I can prove it on a scratch of paper with a pen. Give me a fucking Etch-a-sketch, I'll do it in three minutes. The proof, the fact, the factorum. I'll show my work, case closed. I'm tired of this back-slapping "aren't humanity neat?" bullshit. We're a virus with shoes, okay? That's all we are."

A couple days ago I happened to see a CSI on Spike TV and I am trying to find one of the songs that was on it...I remember a lot of fingerpicked electric guitar, the vocalist sounded more than a little bit like Robbie Robertson and the chorus had the lyric "Shine a Little Light" in it....

Does anybody have any idea what the song was?

Comics are done...and more knowledge from the Deep Scaled Ones.

New culture, new philosophy.  I really need to get off my hind end and put together a glossary for Requiem...plus a chapter by chapter synopsis as well.  It's really getting to be a necessity with it getting close to 800 comics here soon.

What else needs to be done?  Too much actually..everything is in limbo still...those who know me, know why.

Need to come up with a good Halloween strip for Tunnelrunners too...there is an idea back there...I just hope it is worth a dang.  My cat has finally settled in for the night, and the house is silent except for John Powell soundtrack music on the iPod

Need a lot of quiet, need empty reefs and water...need a lot of things that aint gonna happen.  But most of all, though...right now I need silence.

Scratch that...right now, I think I need a new fucking keyboard..my MS Wireless Desktop Elite has been getting really flaky as of late...

If anybody out there can recommend a good keyboard/mouse combo for somebody who really hammers their fucking keyboard keys.  Give me a buzz...Since it is gona be plugged into my laptop, it has to be USB capable, otherwise I couldn't care less what brand it is. It just needs to be a tank.

Had one of the best pieces of my life accidentally deleted tonight....
And I pulled a piece out of the archives that I never expected would ever see the light of day....[livejournal.com profile] meteru  has seen it once before I post worked it a bit.

Sitting here, typing with David Bowie's "Scary Monsters" on repeat.  It's a weird kind of night.  My cat keeps swaying in time with Bowie singing about Major Tom

It's a weird kind of night.
