Woohooo!!!!!
Feb. 3rd, 2004 02:13 amOn a truly geek note, I finally managed to find the holy grail of discontinued software.
This elusive bit of code is called yz dock, and was created as a OS X style docking toolbar for Windows XP. Unfortunately due to a cease and desist order from Apple computers, development was halted.
It is a touch buggy in places, however 95% of the functionality of it is flawless. I love this program, and I love the fact that it allows me to have a nearly empty desktop, and allows me full access to whatever program I wish when I am running tempermental programs that lock up your desktop through their functioning (namely Bryce 5).
Oh, and did I mention it was free?
If you can find it out there (and I have found it here http://www.freewebs.com/dj_sol/yz_dck0083.zip ) in web land give it a whirl. You will not be disappointed. One point of warning though...it only works on XP as far as I know. If I get bored in class some night I will give it a go under Windows 2003 Server. Judging by the way my classes have been going for the last few weeks, that may be very soon.
