Music and Celebration

Saturday night, I had the priviledge of being in the presence of a true legend.  Me and my wife attended a performance by the Bily Nicks Trio at The Pub (a satellite restaurant of the Mishawaka Brewing Company).  In case this name is unfamiliar to you, Billy "Stix" Nicks came up as a drummer and leader of the second band that saxophonist Junior Walker ever joined.  He later performed with Junior Walker during the mid sixties at Motown Records, and has toured over the years with a reconstituted version of the All Stars.

A great performer...and a great guy as well...I had the priviledge of having a few words with the man himself after his performance.  He is a truly gracious man to put up with a young pup like myself, and I personally think the man may well be Buddy Rich in disguise.  Yes, The Bily Nicks Trio is that good.  If you are ever in the Northern Indiana area do yourself a great favor and check out The Billy Nicks Trio.  You will thank yourself later.

But Saturday was a celebration night for me and my wife...with the final exam I had knocked out that day in class and the results of this quarters classes that I had already been informed of...I clenched my Associates Degree.  While I still have my Bachelors to go, whatever happens I am now a college graduate.

It feels real good....thanks to everybody who made Saturday night one of the best nights I had had in a long while.  I am deeply in your debt.
